Accessibility — CitySchedule

CitySchedule is committed to making its platform usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control, and keyboard-only navigation. Because we serve city and municipal governments, we treat accessibility as a baseline requirement, not an afterthought.

Conformance target. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which is the technical standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice's 2024 rule under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act and by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

1. Measures We Take

Semantic HTML with labeled form controls, landmark regions, and a "skip to main content" link
Full keyboard operability, visible focus indicators, and focus management in dialogs
Color contrast tuned to meet WCAG AA minimums; information is never conveyed by color alone
Text alternatives for meaningful images and data tables that accompany every chart
Respect for the operating-system "reduce motion" preference
Automated accessibility checks (axe-core, WCAG 2.1 A/AA) run as part of our test suite, plus manual review

2. Conformance Status

CitySchedule is partially conformantwith WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard. We maintain a detailed Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT®) describing our conformance against each success criterion, available to city customers on request at support@cityschedule.app.

3. Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some limitations remain. We are actively working to resolve them:

Assistive-technology testing in progress. Automated checks pass on public pages; an end-to-end screen-reader review of every authenticated workflow is ongoing.
Uploaded and third-party documents. Files uploaded by residents, and blank forms supplied by a city, are outside our control and may not be fully accessible. Contact the relevant city, or us, if you need an accessible alternative format.

If you are a resident and your request concerns a specific city service rather than the platform itself, that city's ADA coordinator can also assist you.

5. Compatibility

CitySchedule is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) on desktop and mobile, used with current versions of common assistive technologies. The site requires JavaScript.
